Why Our Work Matters

Meet Mary

Mary is a creative 14-year-old who loves drawing and making bracelets. She dreams of becoming a realtor one day and often talks about exploring a future in engineering. Mary has been in foster care since she was just eight months old, and she continues to show strength, hope, and determination as she grows.

Data Shows

Across Texas and the nation, youth in foster care face challenges far beyond their control. They experience frequent school moves, unstable housing, trauma, and limited support. Students in foster care are more than four times as likely to drop out, only 65% graduate high school by age 21, and fewer than 10% earn a college degree. Nearly 20% face homelessness shortly after aging out.

These numbers represent more than statistics—they represent real young people longing for stability, belonging, and hope.

A Day 4 M.E. exists to meet that need by providing programs that build confidence, celebrate achievements, and surround youth with the consistent support they deserve.
